About Me

I am a Christian, a Wife, a Mom, and a School Library Media Coordinator with a passion for teaching and learning. I was called back into education after being privileged to stay home with my two young children . In my previous life, I taught elementary school and ran a private tutoring business. In 2008 I was hired as the School Library Media Specialist at Underwood GT Magnet Elementary School in Raleigh, NC.

I feel very fortunate to be on staff at Underwood! We are a magnet school located in the heart of Raleigh’s historic Five Points neighborhood. The magnet program is based on the Common Core Curriculum, with integration of art, dance, drama, music, French, Spanish, technology, physical education, and more into all subject areas. We have an active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Underwood, in addition to many community partnerships.
